A packaging  illustration which could possibly be incorporated with text for labels for marmalade, fresh handmade lemon tart box, printed onto metal tins for tea packaging. The fast, energetic way that they are draw reflects the sharp, zesty nature of the fruit. I seem to like drawing fruit and vegetables a lot, their natural colours, beautiful shapes and textures as well as the fact that I love to eat them.

I used watercolours to apply the base colour first, and then added marks to represent the different textures and sections of the fruit. Not drawing every detail seen by the eye, but drawing just the right amount of marks to communicate the object to the viewer.

This packaging illustration could be used for a guacamole packaging. The illustrations are produced on white card using pen and ink and splashes of water colour, then ripped to produce textured edges and to bring the away from the background.
The ink marks capture the organic rawness of the fruit and fresh colours make the fruit appealing to eat when looking at it. I feel that this character of the fruit is brought out in the drawing bringing so much more to communication, rather than a simple photograph being used. The characteristics of the fruit visually, the taste and the touch can be taken from an illustration like this. It also brings a fun element due to the variety of fast ink marks.

Expressing the emotions and feelings felt as well as the visual beauty of a French walkway with a line of trees along each side. Many different ways of mark making were used, all with pen and ink. Fine lines, sharp dots, solid marks with the back of the ink pen. These are all complimented with soft dabs of watercolour, dabbled areas of sunlight and shade, soft leaves blowing in the treetops.
The impressionistic style of drawing links it also to the French Impressionists. This would be suitable for a French wine bottle label when carefully combined with text.

An old market place selling many different products, baskets of fruit, sacks of potatoes, covered with a white and blue striped cover held up with thin poles. Each detail in the market place is drawn with a passion of recording, this continues on to the street and background areas, fewer marks are used but the background is equally important. Fewer marks also allow the light you shine through.

Another old French scene which could be used for a wine bottle label, a series from the same producer, as the similarity of colours use of mark making and space would reflect the links within the product, for example from a certain region. The traditional ink drawing and old French scenes I feel would compliment a mature and quality product.
